Our Organic Allotment

For some years we have had an organic allotment. In addition, our parent and toddler group, the Munch Bunch, has its very own organic allotment. The children have enormous fun visiting the allotment, whilst we do our best to keep them off our neighbours' veg!

We feel that it is extremely important that children learn how the food they eat is grown. The children find the experience of planting seeds, watering and weeding seedlings, harvesting their veg and then finally eating it extremely rewarding. When not growing their own vegetables, the allotment affords the children the ideal hunting ground for creepy crawlies for mini-beast projects, or just the opportunity to get out and enjoy our village.
