Woodcote Pre-school welcomes families of all means and circumstances. We are proud of our long tradition of making pre-school education available to every child.
We set up the Inclusivity Fund in April 2004. The fund provides a limited number of free sessions to two year olds from Income Support families.
As a registered charity we try to keep our fees as low as possible, whilst ensuring that we are able to cover our running costs. We have to arrange our staffing and book our premises well in advance so, to be able to budget, we have to charge fees half termly in advance. We fully appreciate, however, that for families in receipt of Income Support or Income Based Job-seekers Allowance, this can present a huge problem. If you have any concerns about paying your fees, please speak in confidence to Liz Newland-Smith, our Pre-school Leader, or to our Treasurer.
Some parents have told us that being on benefits in and around Woodcote can be an isolating experience. The cost of living is high and public transport is limited. The affluence of the majority merely serves to highlight the poverty of those receiving Income Support. Several families have found joining Woodcote Pre-school a real help. Children socialise on an equal footing with a wide range of children and parents become involved in their community, sometimes for the first time.
Woodcote Pre-school is a happy and welcoming place for children and their families.
