National Organic Week was celebrated at Woodcote Pre-School by bringing together some of the oldest and youngest people in Woodcote. Children from the pre-school and its parent and toddler group, The Munch Bunch, made several trips to the pre-school's two organic allotments.
They harvested beans, peas, beetroot, tomatoes, carrots, leeks, potatoes, courgettes and peppers for their own lunches, and then made up small 'veg boxes' which were given by the children to local pensioners.
Pre-School leader Sharron Rook said: "We have a lot of help and goodwill from the people of Woodcote, particularly older villagers.
"Jim Pearson has been our Father Christmas for years, Tom Drewitt and Norman Hodges have helped at more jumble sales than I'd care to remember. And we have a team of knitters who regularly make us jumpers to sell.
"One kind lady did our payroll for years. Others have donated bulbs, planks and pallets for our allotments. It's lovely for the children themselves to be able to say thank you."
