As a registered charity, our aim is to promote the education and development of pre-school children in a parent-involving community based group. As such, we strive to keep our fees to a minimum. The fees are designed to cover the day to day expenses of staff wages and training, rent, insurance and materials etc. We are not a profit-making organisation.
Our morning and afternoon sessions cost £8.50 (ages 18 months to 2 years), £7.00 (ages 2 to 3 years) or £6.50 each (over 3's), whilst our lunchtime sessions, during which we provide a meal, cost £4.50 each .
The pre-school is reliant on fundraising to support the extra activities and equipment provided for the children. As part of the contract parents are asked to sign, it is expected that all parents support us with our fundraising. It has become increasingly hard to raise the additional funds required so, on top of all our usual fundraising activities, the parent-run committee has introduced a £20 per term voluntary donation from parents.
We are a registered childcare provider and are therefore able to offer free places to all eligible children. Currently, all three year olds in Oxfordshire are entitled to a grant. This covers the cost of five 2½ hour sessions each week.
Other children (e.g. two year olds) may be eligible for public funding on a discretionary basis under the Early Years Support Scheme.
We set up the Inclusivity Fund in April 2004. The fund provides a limited number of free sessions to two year olds from Income Support families.
The Munch Bunch is a separate parent and toddler session run by the Pre-school.
Subs are £4.50 per week per child, which are payable half-termly in advance.
